How to Generate a Memory Dump
Overview
This article explains how to configure your system to generate a memory dump file after a system crash.
Instructions
- On the affected computer, open the Control Panel.
- Navigate to System and Security > System.
- Select Advanced system settings.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- In the Startup and Recovery area, select Settings.
- Under Writing Debugging Information, select either Kernel memory dump or Complete memory dump.
- Click OK to save your changes.
- Restart the computer.
After a crash occurs, you can access the memory dump file at the default path or configure a specific path to collect the generated logs.
